An adventure off the beaten path

Looking to get a little further off the beaten path? A drive on the remote dirt roads like McKay Flat and Hondu Arch Road should do the trick!

And if you are looking for more than just a drive, make sure you drive the whole stretch and land at the impressive Hondu natural arch. There are no formal hiking trails here, and this drive should only be considered during good weather. As always, make sure you have plenty of gas and water before heading out on this and many other adventures in the Swell.

The drive takes you into the Southern part of the Swell, known for the towering rock pillars, mesas and arches made of colorful limestones, sandstones and mudstones, the youngest of which date back to the Cretaceous.
