A charming restored guard station in Huntington Canyon

Learn about the founding of the Manti-La Sal National Forest in this charming restored guard station in Huntington Canyon.

The station shows the history of the Civilian Conservation Corps of the 1930s and the CCC's contribution to the infrastructure and conservation of the Forest. Volunteer staff are on hand to answer questions about the Forest Service, surrounding landscape, and local wildlife.

Open weekends and holidays during the summer.

Location

Take UT-31 W north out of Huntington for 20 miles, then turn right on Nuck Canyon Road. Stuart Guard Station will be on your immediate right.
